What is an advertising and public relations student doing with a statistics and data analytics minor?

As an advertising and public relations student with a statistics and data analytics minor, I find the intersection between numbers and creativity to fuse together analytical rigor and creative flair.

I have a knack for math and science, but a creative passion is always burning inside of me. I love to dig into data and extract insight to enhance the strategic direction of projects and campaigns. I continuously seek out-of-the-box approaches to drive impactful results.

About Me

Creative Strategist

MY values

adaptability

I believe that to improve is to change. The industry is everchanging. And when these changes come, I will be ready to adjust with an open mind to be proactive and resourceful.

teamwork

Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much. Through the exchange of ideas and combining different personal skillsets, I learn the most from the people I collaborate with.

hard work

I believe in going above and beyond, pushing boundaries to achieve the highest quality results. A hard-working spirit inspires and motivates others to continuously improve.

Passion

Hard work is just the half of it. Passion gives me purpose in the things I do. Passion drives me to work past any challenges that come my way.

diversity and inclusion

Everyone carries intersecting identities that contribute to different life experiences. I believe that to better understand these different experiences is to get to know the people who carry them.

empathy

I believe having empathy better positions me to effectively work in a team and develop relationships.

  • Project: Hello Vietnam

  • Project: Page to Stage

A collaboration between the Lincoln City Library and the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

About me (part 2)

My parents immigrated from Vietnam and rebuilt their forever home in Nebraska from scratch. My entire childhood, I watched my parents work tirelessly against all odds to raise me and carve out a space for themselves in a foreign country. My parents are the ones who taught me that all it takes is hard work, determination and unwavering hope for dreams to come true.

Aside from being a full-time student, I am also a part-time bartender. Bartending allows me to transform simple ingredients into complex drinks. Working in the service industry has taught me invaluable lessons on work ethic and respect.

Being an INFP-T, I prefer fewer, yet deep and meaningful, social interactions. I prioritize empathy in all aspects of my life. To me, empathy has the power to strengthen any relationship.

Outside of school and work, some things I'm passionate about are diversity and inclusion, music and capybaras.
